Artificial Intelligence (AI)
computer systems that use data and patterns to perform tasks that are often associated with human intelligence
Generative AI (Gen AI)
AI that creates new content, such as text, images, music, or code, based on patterns it has learned from examples
Large Language Model (LLM)
a type of AI model that is trained on large amounts of text data to generate human-like text
Machine Learning (ML)
algorithms that can learn from data
Model
the patterns or rules that an AI learns from data
Model Drift
decreased model performance because the real-world data or conditions it encounters shift
Automation
Computer systems that carry out tasks with limited human involvement
Augmentation
AI tools that support human work while humans remain responsible for decisions and outcomes
Human-In-the-Loop (HITL) training
AI training augmented with human feedback, where AI outputs are reviewed by humans to improve accuracy and accountability

bit
A binary digit, either 0 or 1.
abstraction
The process of removing detail to focus on the essential characteristics of something.
encoding
Converting information into a specific format for storage or transmission.
roundoff error
The error that occurs when a number is approximated to fit in a fixed number of bits.
overflow error
The error that occurs when a number is too large to be represented within the given number of bits.
