Section 44.4 PDF (XSL-FO) Options

These options affect the experimental conversion that produces PDF directly from XSL-FO with Apache FOP, without an intermediate LaTeX stage. This conversion is under active development. See Section 30.20 for an overview.

Subsection 44.4.1 Font Selection

The text and monospace fonts of the PDF are chosen with the

/publication/pdf/@font

attribute, whose value is a key naming a tested font set. The value latin-modern (the default) selects Latin Modern, matching the LaTeX conversion, while dejavu selects the DejaVu families. In either case a small number of symbols absent from the chosen font are supplied from a fallback font. Every font is fully embedded, as required for the accessible (PDF/UA) output this conversion produces.
