If you're considering a college degree in a computer science related area, colleges and universities offer bachelor's degrees in computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, etc., and many community colleges offer associate's degree programs in these areas too. Here's an idea: organize a field trip to a local company or have local IT professionals visit your classroom! These do not have to be tech companies, either. Many businesses, governments, organizations, and even schools rely on Information Technology (IT) departments, including hospitals and clinics, power companies, city government, etc. Not sure where to start? Reach out to your local Chamber of Commerce or your local college or university and ask them.

POGIL Activity: In your POGIL groups, explore the following websites and pick an IT/CS career and do further research on it. Prepare a poster or presentation on that career to present to your class. Be sure to talk about the further study required to enter that career.
